Government Incompetence and Deadly Recklessness in Ebola Threat Response

Ebola Obama Government Incompetence and Deadly Recklessnessby Chris Banescu –
Within the span of a couple of weeks the Obama administration and the director of the CDC have proven themselves to be dangerously incompetent and reckless in dealing with the deadly threat that the Ebola virus poses to the American people. Despite feeding us politically correct bromides that we have little to fear from Ebola and Obama’s personal reassurances that “the chances of an Ebola outbreak here in the United States are extremely low,” Ebola has reached America. People are infected, some are under quarantine, many more are being monitored, and one has already died.

Just last week, Tom Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, lectured the American people that closing the border “would not work” in controlling the spread of Ebola to the United States. In classic Orwellian newspeak he warned that restricting travel to and from West Africa would put Americans more at risk of contracting Ebola. [Read more...]

Mental Breakdown Precedes the Moral Breakdown

G. K. Chesterton The Apostle of Common Senseby Chris Banescu –
G. K. Chesterton was one of the deepest and clearest thinkers of the 20th century. He was also a strong defender of the Christian faith, a modern day apologist in the truest sense of the word. As Dale Ahlquist points out in his book, Chesterton was indeed The Apostle of Common Sense who fearlessly challenged the lies and falsehoods of his time. His insights and logic are as relevant today as they were then.

Chesterton foresaw the coming moral breakdowns that we’re currently experiencing. He understood that the corruption and misuse of language in order to obfuscate the truth were symptoms of a mental breakdown that will inevitably lead to moral corruption. He was right.

According to Chesterton, the modern world’s weakness for euphemism is evidence of a mental breakdown even more than of a moral breakdown. When we use language, not to express the truth, but to disguise the truth, we soon lose our ability to think clearly. It was this mental breakdown, this twisting of words and their meanings, that paved the way to today’s obvious moral breakdown. Chesterton saw it before it was obvious. And he clearly understood and explained the mental breakdown that precedes the moral breakdown. [Read more...]

Put Away Your Racist Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

Racist Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwichby Chris Banescu –
My fellow Americans, the “subtle language of racism” you’ve been hiding inside your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches has been exposed. Your biased and ethnocentric eating habits are oppressing minorities. The very mention of the words “peanut butter and jelly sandwich” connote “white privilege.” Such intolerant and racist behavior will not be tolerated. Shame on you!

The Portland Tribune reports that Verenice Gutierrez, principal of Harvey Scott K-8 School in Portland, has discovered this racist travesty destroying the very fabric of our society. The “seemingly innocent” peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a cleverly disguised capitalist tool used to promote racism.

Verenice Gutierrez picks up on the subtle language of racism every day.

Take the peanut butter sandwich, a seemingly innocent example a teacher used in a lesson last school year.

“What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?” says Gutierrez, principal at Harvey Scott K-8 School, a diverse school of 500 students in Northeast Portland’s Cully neighborhood. [Read more...]

Obama Omits ‘God’ From The Gettysburg Address

Obama Omits God From The Gettysburg Addressby Chris Banescu –
One Nation Under Who?
President Obama failed to include the words “under God” while reading from the Gettysburg Address for a PBS documentary. As first reported by Chris Plante, on WMAL, the president recited the Gettysburg Address, delivered by President Abraham Lincoln on November 19, 1863. The video clip is part of a PBS documentary created by filmmaker Ken Burns that includes speeches by other celebrities.

The most historically accurate version of the Gettysburg Address includes the words “under God.” This is known as the “Bliss Copy” and it’s the version most often reproduced and referenced. This copy is displayed on the walls of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The relevant passage reads as follows: [Read more...]

Twenty-Five Signs That You’re Arguing With Leftists

Signs That You’re Arguing With Leftistsby Chris Banescu –
How do you know when you have successfully argued and defended your position when debating with leftists or progressives on Facebook (or face-to-face)?

Look for these telling signs (not necessarily in this exact order):

1. They call you an “extremist, radical, racist, Teabagger, heartless capitalist, or FoxNews cultist.”

2. They declare that “you’re a ‘hater’ or you’re angry.”

3. They ignore the facts and evidence you present, and challenge your “motivations” instead. (Note, you are not allowed to question their motivations.)

4. They accuse you of “insulting” any liberal, progressive, or leftist that you criticize, and remind you that it’s “rude” to do so.

5. They question your intelligence, experience, education, ethnic background, and/or religious beliefs.

6. They denounce you as “intolerant and judgmental.” [Read more...]

ObamaCare: ‘I was Laughing at Boehner, Until the Mail Came Today’

ObamaCare Socialism Communism Goalby Chris Banescu –
It’s finally dawning on liberals, leftists, and progressives that conservatives were telling the truth when they warned about the fundamental problems and dangers of The ‘Affordable’ Care Act (ObamaCare). As reported in the San Jose Mercury News, reality came knocking for Obama voters and ObamaCare supporters last week. And many of them wish they had not answered the door.

Big believers in ObamaCare are experiencing sticker shock. These folks voted not once, but twice for President Obama. They believed the propaganda that ObamaCare will lower prices and the people will keep their existing plans. They’re now seeing that Obama lied.

Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.

Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.

Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.

Seattle Officials: Word ‘Cross’ Too Offensive for Use

Seattle Officials: Word Cross Too Offensive for Useby Chris Banescu –
All government employees in the city of Seattle have been informed that the word “cross” and the letters “T” and ‘t’, universal symbols for a Christian cross, are patently offensive and are banned from use in all official documents and communications. Encouraged by the enthusiastic support from liberal, progressive, and leftist organizations for originally banning the words “citizen” (offensive since many people are residents, not citizens) and “brown bag” (offensive to people of brown skin), Seattle’s Office of Civil Rights is expanding the list of banned discriminatory and hateful language.

As reported earlier by KOMO-TV, FoxNews, and other media organizations, city workers in Seattle were previously “advised that the terms “citizen” and “brown bag” are potentially offensive and may no longer be used in official documents and discussions.” This did not concern Elliott Bronstein official spokesman for the city’s Office of Civil Rights. “Luckily, we’ve got options,” Bronstein wrote in a memo obtained by KOMO-TV. “For ‘citizens,’ how about ‘residents?’” According to that same memo, city employees should use the terms “lunch-and-learn” or “sack lunch” instead of “brown bag.”

The Voice Blog has obtained copies of the latest memos expanding the city’s policies prohibiting the usage of offensive language in all government functions. Here are the official press releases from Seattle’s Office for Civil Rights, with additional Memos included. [Read more...]

No Bipartisanship in Support of Tyranny

No Bipartisanship in Support of Tyranny by Chris Banescu –
Appeasement of evil always emboldens and empowers tyrants. Conservatives cannot accept bipartisanship in support of tyranny. We must vigilantly oppose the oppressive and immoral policies that continually usurp our individual liberties and rights and increase the power, reach, and control of government. As history has shown, silence in the face of unjust policies and collaboration with immoral and characterless individuals never bring about genuine peace, freedom, or prosperity. “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent,” warned Thomas Jefferson.

On the day following the devastating results of the November 2012 presidential election, Mark Levin issued a passionate call for conservatives to stand on their principles and fight against the spreading tyranny in America. In his opening monologue on his nationally syndicated radio program, Levin boldly stated that conservatives “do not accept bipartisanship in the pursuit of tyranny. Period. We will not negotiate the terms of our economic and political servitude. Period.” [Read more...]
