Give comfort to the suffering, strength to the weak, wisdom to the undecided, and courage to the fearful.<\/p>\n<p>Master, You are our only help in time of need. You Who are just, loving, and compassionate look down upon us and have mercy on us and deliver us from the darkness and danger that now besets us. Deal with us not according to our iniquities, but according to Your manifold mercies, for we are the works of Your hands, and You know our weaknesses.<\/p>\n<p>Be merciful to us Lord for we are in need of Your love and kindness. Help us elect a faithful, loving, mature, hard-working, and wise leader, a man of character and integrity who will bring hope, peace, and joy to a suffering and crumbling nation.<\/p>\n<p>We beseech Thee Master do not forsake us and hear our prayers and petitions. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.orthodoxnet.com\/z-img-lib\/zMisc\/Line_Divider_02_270x20.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"20\" hspace=\"7\/\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Psalm 37 &#8211; The Heritage of the Righteous and the Calamity of the Wicked<\/strong><br \/>\n37 Do not fret because of evildoers,<br \/>\nNor be envious of the workers of iniquity.<br \/>\n2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,<br \/>\nAnd wither as the green herb.<\/p>\n<p>3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;<br \/>\nDwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.<br \/>\n4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,<br \/>\nAnd He shall give you the desires of your heart.<\/p>\n<p>5 Commit your way to the Lord,<br \/>\nTrust also in Him,<br \/>\nAnd He shall bring it to pass.<br \/>\n6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,<br \/>\nAnd your justice as the noonday.<\/p>\n<p>7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;<br \/>\nDo not fret because of him who prospers in his way,<br \/>\nBecause of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.<br \/>\n8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;<br \/>\nDo not fret\u2014it only causes harm.<\/p>\n<p>9 For evildoers shall be cut off;<br \/>\nBut those who wait on the Lord,<br \/>\nThey shall inherit the earth.<br \/>\n10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;<br \/>\nIndeed, you will look carefully for his place,<br \/>\nBut it shall be no more.<br \/>\n11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,<br \/>\nAnd shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.<\/p>\n<p>12 The wicked plots against the just,<br \/>\nAnd gnashes at him with his teeth.<br \/>\n13 The Lord laughs at him,<br \/>\nFor He sees that his day is coming.<br \/>\n14 The wicked have drawn the sword<br \/>\nAnd have bent their bow,<br \/>\nTo cast down the poor and needy,<br \/>\nTo slay those who are of upright conduct.<br \/>\n15 Their sword shall enter their own heart,<br \/>\nAnd their bows shall be broken.<\/p>\n<p>16 A little that a righteous man has<br \/>\nIs better than the riches of many wicked.<br \/>\n17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,<br \/>\nBut the Lord upholds the righteous.<\/p>\n<p>18 The Lord knows the days of the upright,<br \/>\nAnd their inheritance shall be forever.<br \/>\n19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,<br \/>\nAnd in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.<br \/>\n20 But the wicked shall perish;<br \/>\nAnd the enemies of the Lord,<br \/>\nLike the splendor of the meadows, shall vanish.<br \/>\nInto smoke they shall vanish away.<\/p>\n<p>21 The wicked borrows and does not repay,<br \/>\nBut the righteous shows mercy and gives.<br \/>\n22 For those blessed by Him shall inherit the earth,<br \/>\nBut those cursed by Him shall be cut off.<\/p>\n<p>23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,<br \/>\nAnd He delights in his way.<br \/>\n24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;<br \/>\nFor the Lord upholds him with His hand.<\/p>\n<p>25 I have been young, and now am old;<br \/>\nYet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,<br \/>\nNor his descendants begging bread.<br \/>\n26 He is ever merciful, and lends;<br \/>\nAnd his descendants are blessed.<\/p>\n<p>27 Depart from evil, and do good;<br \/>\nAnd dwell forevermore.<br \/>\n28 For the Lord loves justice,<br \/>\nAnd does not forsake His saints;<br \/>\nThey are preserved forever,<br \/>\nBut the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.<br \/>\n29 The righteous shall inherit the land,<br \/>\nAnd dwell in it forever.<\/p>\n<p>30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom,<br \/>\nAnd his tongue talks of justice.<br \/>\n31 The law of his God is in his heart;<br \/>\nNone of his steps shall slide.<\/p>\n<p>32 The wicked watches the righteous,<br \/>\nAnd seeks to slay him.<br \/>\n33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand,<br \/>\nNor condemn him when he is judged.<\/p>\n<p>34 Wait on the Lord,<br \/>\nAnd keep His way,<br \/>\nAnd He shall exalt you to inherit the land;<br \/>\nWhen the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.<br \/>\n35 I have seen the wicked in great power,<br \/>\nAnd spreading himself like a native green tree.<br \/>\n36 Yet he passed away,[a] and behold, he was no more;<br \/>\nIndeed I sought him, but he could not be found.<\/p>\n<p>37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;<br \/>\nFor the future of that man is peace.<br \/>\n38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;<br \/>\nThe future of the wicked shall be cut off.<\/p>\n<p>39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;<br \/>\nHe is their strength in the time of trouble.<br \/>\n40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;<br \/>\nHe shall deliver them from the wicked,<br \/>\nAnd save them,<br \/>\nBecause they trust in Him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Chris Banescu &#8211;
